Guitian's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

37-year old USA-PURn forward Jose Guitian (207-F-1987) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Santiago Basket Titanes Dorado and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Del Patio (#3, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 92-86. Santiago Basket is placed at 2nd position in Dominican Rep. league. Santiago Basket is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Guitian had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Santiago Basket's top player in his first season with the team. Lasell College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Guitian is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.0rpg), assists (8th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 4.7bpg and 40.9% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Nargenis Ulloa (182-G-1997) of top-ranked Immortals de Cibao. He is a guard in his first season at Immortals. In the last game Ulloa recorded an impressive 30 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course he led Immortals to another comfortable win outscoring Verano (1-1) 115-82. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Ulloa is a newcomer at Immortals and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.7ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.7rpg and 4.0apg.

Third place about best performers goes to Moises Peralta of LDC Ignite PP (#3). Peralta scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Peralta's great performance the LDC Ignite lost 89-92 to #1 ranked Santiago Max. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. LDC Ignite can only dream about fighting for top spots in Eastern. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Peralta has individually a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.5ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 11.5rpg (#1 in league).
